Community Outreach
From our founding in 1964, the Singing Angels have always worked hard to give back to the community. From benefit concerts to food drives, those involved in Angels recognize the importance of being an active participant in community affairs. The Annual "Training Chorus Christmas Caroling Crusade" is but one example of the group's commitment to service. The Angels provide at least 30 programs yearly free of charge to area nursing homes and hospitals.
The Singing Angels give more than their music. Recent outreach initiatives included raising over $5000 for the victims of the Sept. 11 tragedies, donating food to Harvest For Hunger, and creating a relationship with the Feed-a-Family program (more than 2,600 meals provided in 2001). Race for the Cure, downtown Cleveland
Christmas Caroling Crusade--a 30-year tradition in Greater Cleveland--in which teams of Training Chorus members entertain at 30 area nursing homes and senior centers
"Rally For Kids": Tower City public show to raise awareness for Cleveland Public Schools
Playhouse Square's "Palooza," showcasing educational outreach of the Center
Benefit for St. Malachi's Hunger Center at Petitti's Garden Center
Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation
Concert for the Salvation Army
Concert for East Cleveland Public Schools (Sponsored by the Jennings Foundation)
Recordings of two Singing Angels songs included on "God Bless America" compilation CD, with proceeds supporting the September 11 relief effort

A "penny
wars" competition among the Angels initiated by one of the members to raise
money for a child with cancer and whose family has no health insurance.
Scholarship program funded by various foundations to cover the tuition costs for
underprivileged members who would be unable to participate without financial
aid.
